Transnistria The Zone is a haunting exploration of spaces shaped by the ongoing impact of conflict, captured through the lens of war's scars. Set against the backdrop of Kyiv's desolation at curfew and the frozen, timeless landscape of Transnistria, this project delves into the eerie isolation that war continues to leave behind. The photos speak of a world in limbo, where human presence is felt but not seen, and the only measure of time is the slow burn of a cigarette. Through these images, the project reflects on the lasting psychological and physical scars left by conflict—stagnation, isolation, and the quiet remnants of lives once full of motion.
